The course explains basic thermodynamic principles and shows how they apply to the efficiency of plant processes. After completing this course, participants should be able to explain the basic principles of thermodynamics and why they are important to power plant operation. They should also be familiar with temperature/entropy charts, and explain how they are used to determine and compare the efficiency of various processes in a plant cycle.
