What is the purpose of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system? The purpose is to provide environments that are comfortable for people and allow temperature- or humidity- sensitive equipment to operate safely and reliably.
Where are HVAC systems typically used? HVAC systems are used in residential, commercial and industrial facilities.
What type of heating systems are used in industrial facilities? Heating systems used in industrial and commercial HVAC systems can be all-air, air-water, or steam, or a combination.
What type of cooling systems are used in industrial facilities? There are two types of cooling systems used in commercial and industrial HVAC applications: DX or direct expansion systems, and chilled water or chiller systems.
How is humidity controlled in an HVAC system? In an HVAC system, humidity can be controlled by either adding or removing moisture from the air. Humidifiers add moisture, while dehumidifiers remove moisture.
